Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership

I advise organisations in the fields of corporate sustainability with an emphasis on performance management and reporting, assurance, ESG risk management, climate risk and the governance of sustainability.

I spent many years in the FSI sector and feel priviliged to have been a Board member at UNEP FI and ClimateWise over the founding years as well as the Head of the Strategy office at Santam Ltd, Africa’s leading general insurer, for over 10 years. As a result I have a passion for and experience in Sustainable Finance, especially in the insurance sector.

I have a particular interest in the process and ordinary practice perspectives of organisational strategy-making as well as the integration of contextual ESG factors into organisational strategy. I believe organisations exist within a nested system and must be aware, co-creative and responsive to contextual dynamics and stakeholder relationships.

I divide my professional time between my Sustainability practice with Deloitte in The Netherlands, finalising my PhD research (how internal change agents help organisations respond to new external demand) at the Graduate School of Business in Cape Town and supporting the sustainability transition as a Senior Associate of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
