Simon Tyler, Senior Associate

Simon is a Trade Finance Expert. He began his career in banking at the Chemical Bank of New York (London) in 1970. Shortly after joining he completed the Credit Training Course and became a credit analyst in the ‘Commodities and Trade Finance’ team.


Biography:

In 1978 he joined the First National Bank of Minneapolis in London as an analyst and moved on to set up the commodities unit. After eight years at FBM, Simon moved to the Commodities unit of Bankers Trust, dealing with major and mid-sized commodity traders. In 1990 Simon joined RaboBank in London to establish a trade finance group. Here he became deeply involved with food and agri traders and producers across the world. In 2010 Simon joined China Construction Bank in London, dealing with commodity companies active in China and financing trade between Europe and China. During this time he became involved with the Banking Environment Initiative and the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, where he is now a Senior Associate.
