Paul recently took early retirement from the Lloyds Banking Group where he was the Group Sustainable Business Director. He was responsible for leading and developing the Banking Group’s approach to responsible and ethical business and sustainable development. Until recently he was also Deputy Chair of the London Sustainable Development. He is currently a Trustee and advisor to a number of charities.



At Lloyds, Paul successfully developed and implemented the business case for establishing a sustainable development function to support the Bank’s business customers as they seize the opportunities and manage the risks of the changing world. This included product and service development. He also developed many of the Group’s outreach and engagement programmes and was interim CEO of the Bank’s Foundation as it went through a period of change and refocus.

Until recently, Paul was the Deputy Chair of the London Sustainable Development Commission which advises the Mayor of London and the Greater London Authority on sustainability issues including making London ‘a sustainable world city’. In addition to mentoring a number of Third Sector CEOs Paul is also a member of the Board of Oasis International. Oasis operates in 11 countries and focuses on education, poverty alleviation and anti-trafficking. Paul is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program and formerly held a number of trustee roles with environmental charities and was an elected member of the UN Environment Programme’s Finance Initiative governing body.
