Dr Cath Tayleur, Senior Programme Manager, Business and Nature Team

Cath is a Senior Programme Manager in the Business and Nature team, with a focus on projects related to biodiversity. She leads the team’s work on the Trade, Development and Environment Hub project, which aims to make international commodity trade sustainable for nature and people. She also works with businesses to create approaches to help them better understand and mitigate their impacts on nature, particularly those arising through their agricultural supply chains.


Cath has over ten years’ experience in sustainability, both in research and the implementation of evidence-based interventions within the public and private sector. Cath is a biodiversity technical specialist, with expertise in the impacts of food and farming systems. Prior to joining CISL she led on scientific work for an international NGO, providing analytical and technical input into biodiversity monitoring programs and impact evaluation of conservation and development projects. During her career she has published widely on the biodiversity impacts of agriculture and climate change in both European and tropical contexts. Cath has a PhD in Ecology from the University of Bristol and a Zoology degree from Durham University.
