Biography

While working at the World Bank, she was jointly responsible developing a “rights, risks and responsibilities” approach to the construction of large water infrastructure. Judith has worked in climate finance and was formerly an adviser to the Chicago Climate Exchange.  She has recently completed a 3 year research project for CISL to explore how global capital flows can influence the emergence of more sustainable hydropower based renewable energy infrastructure, with a particular focus on the analysis of risk. Judith completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge considering the optimisation of the process of planning and developing large infrastructure projects, including the economic, social, environmental, and institutional effects of delays in project development. Her recent research topics have included such issues as: the impact of climate change on investment in business property; the implementation of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures; changes in farming practice to meet the challenges of sustainability; and issues of afforestation.
