The Finance team supports CISL by processing and monitoring a high volume of financial transactions and acting as a first point of contact for finance queries and coordinating with central University finance function.
The role
As a Senior Finance Coordinator, you will work closely with an established team to ensure the efficient processing of financial transactions and act as the first point of contact for complex finance queries. The teams responsibilities span all areas of accounts receivable and payable, payments to individuals (using systems such as Ind-E-Pay, CCWS, and CHRIS), assisting with purchasing and supplier setup, and carrying out regular general ledger tasks such as recharges, journals, and expense claim processing. In this role, you will also contribute to finance processes related to research grants and fellowships, support ongoing process improvements, and provide day-to-day guidance and supervision to Finance Coordinators.
Key skills and experience:
- Experience working in a financial accounts environment, following established financial procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Educated to GCSE level, including English and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above; AAT qualification (full or part qualified) or equivalent is desirable.
- Proven ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders in a busy, service focused setting; experience supporting a commercially oriented team is an advantage.
- Strong administrative capabilities with excellent attention to detail; confident communicator at all levels; able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines; highly proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook and quick to learn new finance systems (e.g., Oracle/UFS, Jira and related tools).
- A collaborative working style, proactive problem, solving skills, and a flexible, customer, focused approach.

This post is a permanent, full-time role, 36.5 working hours a week on a hybrid basis. Office attendance is required at a minimum on Wednesday and Thursday.
