Tara  Norton, Senior Associate

Tara Norton is global head of supply chain at Engie Impact, where she works with corporate and civic clients to drive the energy transition of global supply chains.


Recognized internationally as an expert in supply chain sustainability, Tara has for more than fifteen years worked in not-for-profit and corporate environments transforming supply chains across industries into more socially and environmentally sustainable systems. She is an independent Board Director at Supply Shift and a tutor on the Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business: Value Chains Stream at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. 

Previously, Tara led BSR’s global supply chain sustainability practice, as managing director, driving sustainable procurement and supply chain projects on issues including supply chain traceability and transparency, supplier engagement, climate change, human rights, labor rights, child rights, supply chain finance and new technologies, and collaboration. She authored reports including Supply Chain Leadership Ladder 2.0, Win-Win-Win: The Sustainable Supply Chain Finance Opportunity, CDP Climate Change Supply Chain Report, UNGC Supply Chain Sustainability Guide, and the UNGC Guide to Supply Chain Traceability.

Before joining BSR, Tara directed supply chain work at 2degrees, was the executive director of Sedex, and worked in sustainable procurement at BAA.

Tara served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Kherson, Ukraine, is a dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom, has lived in five countries, speaks fluent French, and considers herself a global citizen. She holds an M.B.A. from London Business School and a B.A. in International Studies and French from Northwestern University.
