Ben became the Institute’s first Facilities Manager, upon joining in Nov 2019. He also operates as the Departmental Safety Officer and Fire Manager, responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety within the organisation.

Ben became the Institute’s first Facilities Manager, upon joining in Nov 2019. He also operates as the Departmental Safety Officer and Fire Manager, responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety within the organisation.
Ben has worked for the University of Cambridge for over 15 years. Originally employed in a research capacity, for a genetics lab within the Department of Zoology, he later progressed into laboratory management, and from there, into health and safety and facilities management. Ben has a degree in Medical Biology and a secondary career, serving as an on-call firefighter for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service.
