The Net Zero Festival will bring together some of the world's foremost thinkers on what it takes to accelerate and expand the net zero transition and we'd urge business executives, investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and campaigners to join us in exploring how to navigate what is the defining economic, political, and technological trend of the age. - Effective boards in a carbon-constrained world, Wednesday 29 September 2021, 9:45 - 10:45 BST: Are Boards equipped to lead their organisation into a carbon-constrained world? What shifts will be needed to grow a business while delivering Net Zero emissions? How will governance need to shift in a world of system-shocks? The pathway to Net Zero will require hard choices.
This session will explore how Boards are building knowledge, expanding thinking and informing strategic responses for the 21st Century. From Covid-19 and climate change, Board members are increasingly having to grapple with ‘untraditional’ business risks. But how are leading organisations coping with these changes? Which practices are working well and how are boards prepare themselves for this new context?

The solutions required to harness these opportunities are largely proven - this session will focus on the finance, policy & regulation measures required to accelerate the pace and scale of their deployment.
