Jeremy Wilson holds non-executive Chair, Advisor and consultant roles for enterprises in the financial services, technology and environmental sustainability sectors. They include Chair of the Whitechapel Think Tank, a public / private sector of government, regulators, incumbents and new players on distributed ledger technologies; Advisor to Form3 a UK transaction banking business; and the Independent Member of the Board overseeing the application of BCR funds to a joint venture of Form3 and Ebury, a subsidiary of Santander.

 

Biography

He retired as Vice Chairman, Corporate Banking at Barclays Bank PLC in July 2019. His responsibilities there spanned roles with its wholesale and corporate banking units overseas and in UK. Latterly they covered senior client contact, innovation - primarily in the application of the new technologies by the Bank & its customers, and environmental sustainability. He began his career at Barclays as a graduate of Durham University on the group’s Management Development Program.

Jeremy has also held extra-curricular positions within and outside Barclays.

He has been a Non Executive Chairman of Bloomsbury Publishing PLC; the Founding Chair of the Banking Environment Initiative Working Group of global banks; Chair of Barclays Bank Egypt; Chair of BAFT, the banking industry’s global Association for finance and trade, based in Washington; Chair of CHAPS Clearing Company Limited in UK; Chair of the UK Government Engagement and Advisory Group on payments; a Director of TheCityUK and Chair of its Audit Committee; a Member of the World Economic Forum Global Futures Council on Blockchain; a Member of the World Economic Forum Global Advisory Council on Forests; and a Trustee of a number of charitable Trusts in UK and overseas.

Jeremy was born in South Africa, brought up in Kenya, and now lives in England.
