About
Alison Thompson is an experienced Board‑level leader with a strong track record across the infrastructure, utilities and sustainability sectors. She currently holds a diverse portfolio of senior roles, including Co‑Chair of the SES Water Customer and Environmental Scrutiny Panel; Regional Chair of the Water Share+ Customer Challenge Group at Pennon Plc; Supervisor and Masters Contributor in Sustainable Business and Governance at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL); Associate at EA Inclusion providing executive‑level DEI mentoring; and Director of Welcome Innovation Ltd.
Her previous experience includes two senior non‑executive public appointments with the Environment Agency and the Consumer Council for Water, alongside leadership roles as a Director at CISL, a Corporate Social Responsibility Consultant, and earlier work within the House of Lords.
Alison brings proven capability as a Chair, Non‑Executive Director and Senior Leader, with extensive experience in governance, strategic oversight, stakeholder engagement and programme assurance. She is also an accomplished project leader and facilitator, with a broad skillset spanning culture, sustainability, customer outcomes and long‑term value creation.
She speaks Spanish and holds two Masters‑level degrees — an MSc in Responsible Tourism Management and a Masters in Leadership for Sustainable Development — as well as a BSc in Environmental Resource Science with Spanish.
