A message from CISL Director Dame Polly Courtice

After thirty-one happy years at CISL I will be stepping down as Director at the end of September 2020.

We have just started the process of finding a new Director who shares our mission and values, and who can lead the Institute into its next phase.

For three decades, CISL has been championing the importance of putting sustainability at the heart of economies around the world. Our work has focused on leaders in business, government and the finance sector, seeking to deepen their understanding, build leadership capacity and develop innovative and effective solutions to global challenges.

We are now entering the next critical decade of action, which will require a radical transformation of how we live if we are to deliver a net zero carbon economy, restore nature, and ensure wellbeing and equality for all. Our amazing team at CISL has taken up the challenge, working with our global network of some 9,000 leaders and drawing on the expertise of leading practitioners alongside the great academic resource of the University of Cambridge.

In November 2020, CISL will move into its new ultra low carbon HQ in central Cambridge. This will provide a hub for our 120+ staff and members of our network. It will accommodate the growth of our ever-expanding graduate, executive and board programmes, and our convening and research programmes. It will also be home to our new Sustainability Accelerator, which we launched last month, offering co-location space and support for start-ups and SMEs working on aligned challenges, alongside larger businesses, policy makers, academics and the CISL team.

Applications should be made directly to Saxton Bampfylde whose details are contained in the role profile and particulars, which can be accessed here.

With best wishes,

Polly
