Dr Louise Drake, Senior Programme Manager

Louise Drake (formerly Driffill) is course director for the Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business, and deputy director for the Master’s in Sustainability Leadership, both of which lie at the heart of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL)’s mission to inspire and develop the business leaders of the future.

Biography:

Louise holds a PhD in Environmental Policy, and an MPhil and BA in Geography, all from the University of Cambridge. Her doctoral thesis looked at stakeholder engagement in environment planning and policy, which led to 5 years in local government leading on various public policy issues, including transport, health and social care. Just prior to joining CISL, she headed up the strategy and financial planning for a large local authority. In her spare time, she is actively involved in youth work and dabbles in amateur theatre.

"The Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership occupies a unique position within the University and is committed to bringing about real change. I didn’t expect my role to be as varied, stimulating, inspiring and fun as it is. Students on our intensive, residential workshops arrive from across the globe to meet leading academics and industry experts, as we wrestle with how business can respond strategically to global challenges and leverage meaningful change."
