Jonathon Hanks is a founding partner of Incite, a global advisory network based in South Africa that helps its clients build competitiveness by delivering societal value. He has more than twenty-five years of advisory and advocacy experience, working with listed companies, inter-governmental organisations and NGOs in Africa, the MENA region, Latin America and Asia.


Jonathon has been actively involved in the development and uptake of various global initiatives aimed at driving improved corporate accountability, contributing to the work of organisations such as the CDP, GRI, IIRC and ISO. He was convenor of ISO’s largest-ever multi-stakeholder negotiating process, securing consensus – from more than 95 countries, 45 global organisations and 450 experts – on the text of the international standard on social responsibility (ISO 26000).

Jonathon is Chairman of the Board of Outward Bound South Africa, a teaching fellow on various executive and MBA programmes, and a regularly invited conference speaker and facilitator. He has Masters’ degrees from the London School of Economics and Lund University, and is a keen kite-surfer, downhill skier and trail-runner.
