Dr Benn Lawson is University Senior Lecturer in Operations Management, Director of the Management Studies Tripos (MST), and Director of the Centre for Process Excellence & Innovation at Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Benn is also Director of Studies in Management at Gonville and Caius College, University of Cambridge.

Biography

Benn’s research focuses on supply chain management, with a particular interest on buyer-supplier relational dynamics, joint new product development processes, and the sustainability impact of supply chain decisions. His work has been published in outlets including Management Science, Journal of Operations Management, Production & Operations Management, and Harvard Business Review. He is the co-author of two textbooks: ‘Strategic Supply Management: Principles, Theories and Practice’ (Pearson, 2009) and ‘Process Theory: The Foundations of Operations Management’ (Oxford University Press, 2018)

Benn received his Ph.D. from The University of Melbourne, and was previously on faculty at Queen’s University Belfast and The University of Melbourne. He has held visiting positions at University of Oxford, University of Pittsburgh, and North Carolina State University, is a member of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) and a Fellow of the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership (CISL). As a Fellow of CISL, Benn is involved in supervision and teaching on the Sustainable Value Chains stream of the Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business.
