Anna is a passionate advocate of digital technologies and their role in delivering the global goals. Anna joined Dentsu in September 2018 where she is responsible for setting and delivering Dentsu’s Social Impact strategy and goals across 145 markets. In 2019 she helped launch two programmes to promote diversity in the digital sector: The Code, Dentsu’s flagship schools programme aimed at young people in areas of social disadvantage, and Female Foundry, supporting 100 female founded businesses to thrive. Now live in major markets including the US, UK, India, China, the UAE, South Africa, Mexico and Chile, The Code and Female Foundry are powered by Dentsu volunteers. She also launched #BrandsForGood, a coallition with Sustainable Brands and eight global brands including P&G, Nestle and National Geographic, to promote sustainable lifestyles. Anna also leads Dentsu’s ‘Common Ground’ programme which aims to use the power of media and advertising to drive delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Anna is a member of the Dentsu Group CSR board committee.
Prior to joining Dentsu Aegis Network, Anna spent five years as Sustainable Business Director for BT Group plc where she was also an advisor to the UK government on digital inclusion. In 2017 Anna won the ‘Changing Lives’ award at the Broadband World Forum and the World Economic Forum’s ‘New Vision for Development’ award for BT’s Connecting Africa programme, delivering satellite broadband and healthcare management systems to remote rural villages in Sub-Saharan Africa. Anna and her team won Business Green’s ‘Sustainability Team of the Year’ award in 2018 with BT becoming one of the first companies in the world to set a new science-based carbon reduction target for 2030 in line with a 1.5-degree scenario. Previous roles include Communications Director and spokesperson for BT Group, member of the BT India Committee for Sustainable and Responsible Business, Steering Committee Member for the World Economic Forum’s Internet For All initiative and member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development Operating Committee. Between 2014 and 2018 Anna was also a judge of the UK’s Tech4Good awards. Anna joined BT in 2004 from Brodeur Worldwide, part of the Omnicom network, where she led global campaigns for companies including Nortel Networks, Philips and Vodafone. She has a degree in European Law and Languages and a post-graduate diploma in Journalism. She is a life-long vegetarian.
