Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL)

Sophia joined CISL in 2022 as a Project Co-ordinator in the Postgraduate Education team, supporting the Master’s and Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainability Leadership for the Built Environment (IDBE), Postgraduate Certificates and Diploma in Sustainable Business and Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership.

Biography

Sophia joined CISL in October 2022 as a Project Coordinator in the Postgraduate Education team. Sophia has previously worked at the Cambridge University Botanic Garden (CUBG) as Project Coordinator on a Wildlife Monitoring Programme, and a sustainable horticulture exhibit focussing on houseplants, in collaboration with Botanic Garden Conservation International. She has also been a Programme Manager for Cambridge Student Hubs, focusing on sustainability-based projects, including working with Cambridge Carbon Literacy Project and the Cambridge Climate and Sustainability Forum.

She worked as a Researcher for the Essex Wildlife Trust where she supported in evaluating the Royal Wildlife Trust Carbon Calculator. 

Sophia also worked with Cambridge Zero and The Cambridge University Sustainability Team to create their biodiversity communication strategy and create resources to make creating and maintain biodiversity more accessible. The materials she created were approved by the Ecological Advisory Panel of the University and are now distributed across the University’s Estates.

Originally from Hong Kong, you can find Sophia at her local bubble tea and dim sum providers. Outside of work you her in evenings at bouldering gym and walking her dogs. In the mornings (if you are up early enough) you can find her in the Cambridge University Botanic Gardens before opening hours surveying the local moth population!
