Dr Theo Hacking, Director, Postgraduate Education

Dr Theo Hacking is the Director, Postgraduate Education at CISL and oversees the development and delivery of CISL’s portfolio of postgraduate programmes, which are delivered part-time for working professional. He is particularly interested in how sustainability can be incorporated into decision-making, including the process and tools that can be used to support this.

Gillian Secrett, Director, Leadership Programmes

Gillian Secrett has recently joined CISL to head a new Leadership programmes portfolio which puts sustainability at its core. Her focus is on supporting major organisations to build the leadership capacity they need to respond to strategic sustainability challenges; to innovate and collaborate in creating value that meets society’s needs; and to be influential in shaping the future we want. 

Lucy Bruzzone, Programme Director

Lucy leads CISL’s executive education engagement with the built environment sector, Chinese and key extractive sector clients. She coordinates CISL’s wider engagement with cities and the built environment and delivers sustainability leadership programmes for senior business leaders across the sector. Her programmes focus on building the leadership capacity to develop and deliver ambitious business strategies which align profit with positive outcomes for the environment and society. Pre-Covid-19 she was responsible for the delivery of key cities-focused programmes for Chinese government officials including the Beijing Municipal and Guangdong Provincial Governments. Between 2018 - 2020 Lucy was the Chair of the Prince of Wales's Business & Sustainability Programme in Chile and Australia and delivered an associated programme in Colombia.

Elodie Cameron, Programme Director

Elodie Cameron supports and leads learning development for national and international clients across a number of sectors. Bringing 20 years commercial experience including retail, luxury, branding, built environment, food and drink to deliver bespoke learning programmes that build the strategic and leadership capabilities for senior leaders to drive ambitious impact, which align profit with positive outcomes for people and planet.

Dr Louise Drake, Programme Director

Louise (Lou) is a Programme Director in the postgraduate education team at CISL, where she is a content lead for the Master’s in Sustainability Leadership. She also contributes to cross-organisational thought leadership and research specifically on the topic of leadership capabilities for a sustainable and just future.

Dr Kayla Friedman, Programme Director, Postgraduate Education

Kayla is the Course Director for the University of Cambridge’s Master’s and Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainability Leadership for the Built Environment (IDBE) and a Programme Director in the postgraduate education team at the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL).

Phil Hazell, Programme Director

Phil joined CISL in 2022 as Programme Director in the Executive Education Strategy team, supporting an expanding portfolio of programmes for a diverse range of multinational clients. Previously, she worked at Cambridge University Press and Assessment, delivering bespoke B2B education products and services.

 

Martin Roberts, Director, Digital Learning Programmes

Martin leads CISL’s open, customised and blended digital learning programmes.  He is an expert in digital education, sustainability, and business leadership, having worked in diverse sectors around the world, including the private and public sectors in several African countries, where he built the capability of leaders to address their natural resource challenges. 

Alice Spencer, Director, Strategy Programmes

Alice is the Director of a portfolio at CISL that develops and delivers executive education programmes for senior leaders working to influence core business models and strategies, with significant ongoing projects within the finance, manufacturing, luxury goods and retail sectors, in addition to an open programme for multi-generational leaders.

Charlie Thompson, Director, Commercial Strategy

Charlie is Digital Learning Programme Director at CISL, responsible for scaling the development and reach of the organisation’s digital programmes. She is also Co-Convenor of CISL’s Sustainable Marketing & Brand Management open online course.
 

Thomas Vergunst, Programme Director

Thomas joined CISL’s Executive Education team in April 2017. Over recent years his work has focused on the sustainable use of resources with a particular emphasis on the policy measures and business strategies that can be used to encourage a shift towards a more circular economy.
