Among the first global private banks to introduce bespoke leadership development programme for its leaders.
Standard Chartered Global Private Bank ("the Private Bank") and the University of Cambridge’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership (“CISL”), today announced the launch of Standard Chartered Global Private Bank Mastery Programme – Leadership and Legacy at a two-day Kick-Off Seminar in Singapore. The Leadership and Legacy programme is a four-month executive development programme for the Private Bank’s most senior leaders including Market Heads and Team Leads. This programme is aligned with Standard Chartered’s strategic priority to grow its Affluent business through investment in its people.
With a backdrop of rapidly evolving macroeconomic, geopolitical, and technology trends expected over the next two decades, the Private Bank and CISL co-curated this programme, with specific insights from its Regional Heads, to equip senior bankers with the mindset, skills and knowledge to deliver differentiated perspectives that the Bank’s clients and their next generations truly value. The first part of the programme kicks off in Singapore with its first cohort of 30 Market Heads and Team Leaders from the Private Bank’s advisory centres in Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai and UK. Participants will then engage in online modules over the next four months, culminating in a four-day on-campus immersive experience at the University of Cambridge in October 2026.
Beyond the classroom, the curriculum is designed to translate theoretical learnings into practical outcome-focused actions. Led by highly experienced CISL academic fellows, the programme seeks to promote an understanding of how global drivers are impacting ultra-high-net-worth individuals, their businesses, and their families; and to empower our senior bankers with the insights to guide their clients in purposeful stewardship of their wealth today, while preparing the next generation to assume the leadership mantle tomorrow.
Raymond Ang, Global Head, Private Bank and Affluent Clients, and Head, Wealth and Retail Banking, Greater China and North Asia, Standard Chartered said: “We are proud to be among the first global private banks to introduce a highly curated leadership programme for our senior bankers. As a leading private bank in Asia, we continue to earn our clients’ trust through tailored advice and bespoke services. Our partnership with CISL reflects our commitment to investing in the professional development of our people and strengthening the capabilities that will help them lead with confidence. Through this programme, we aim to develop future-ready leaders who can continue to support our clients in their life’s work, and on their wealth and legacy journeys.”
Lindsay Hooper, Chief Executive Officer, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership said: “CISL is delighted to partner Standard Chartered Global Private Bank in this bespoke programme focused on leadership and legacy. We look forward to working alongside Standard Chartered executives to build competitiveness and resilience as they support their clients in this rapidly evolving world of technological change, climate risk, and social pressure, and deliver long-term success for the bank, its clients and the wider society they serve."
