Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL)

alumni council announcement

13 November 2025 - Seven distinguished alumni of CISL’s Postgraduate Programmes have been appointed to a newly formed Postgraduate Alumni Council. They were selected from a large number of exceptional applications, and we sincerely thank everyone who applied. This dynamic group will develop and execute a programme to strengthen and enrich life-long connections within our global postgraduate community.

A vibrant, engaged alumni network is an essential enabler for impact, empowering our community to drive systemic change through leadership, innovation, and collaboration. Many of our alumni have long expressed a desire to stay connected with each other and with CISL, and we are thrilled to launch this initiative to fulfil that wish.

“I have been heartened to experience the energy and goodwill amongst our alumni over many years; hence I’m delighted that the Postgraduate Alumni Council has been established to galvanise this for even greater impact and mutual benefit.”

Dr Theo Hacking, Director, Postgraduate Education

The Alumni Council Needs You!

While the Council provides direction, alumni will have many other opportunities to contribute.  We encourage you to join working groups that will help deliver the specific elements of the alumni programme.  If you have suggestions or identify opportunities for alumni engagement, please email Network@cisl.cam.ac.uk . The Council’s first official meeting will take place in January 2026, and working groups will form shortly thereafter.

The formation of this Council represents a key commitment by CISL to maintaining valuable ties with our alumni.  Please look out for our next newsletter in February for more details on how you can participate and help shape the future of the CISL postgraduate community.
