There is approximately a $700 billion per year gap between the current and required financing to meet the 2030 targets of the GBF. Finance, both public and private, has a central role to play in closing this gap.
To catalyse the role of financial institutions in meaningfully contributing towards the GBF, this session will involve discussions around:
- private commercial capital as a key part of achieving the goals of the GBF and a nature-positive economy;
- achieving nature-positive outcomes requires both halting existing damage to nature while also contributing to reversing nature loss, and that financing can be structured to achieve both;
- understanding how private commercial capital is being operationalised to both halt and reverse nature loss, galvanising action for other financial institutions, through the lens of different financial actors.
Please note that access to the Blue Zone is restricted to delegates officially accredited to a CBD observer organisation. All times are Colombian local time (GMT-5). This event does NOT require registration. We look forward to seeing you there!
