Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL)

Virtual programme

Following its’ successful introduction in 2020, the virtual seminar has now become an important staple of the global suite of BSP Programmes, breaking down barriers to accessing education and achieving 92% overall satisfaction amongst delegates.

The programme has been redesigned specifically for an online audience, underpinned by a bespoke, interactive virtual classroom that provides a learning environment to explore concepts offline and network with peers. The daily live sessions take place each morning for 5 days and combine provocations from expert contributors with break-out analysis of challenges and opportunities, 1-2-1 peer learning, group work, overnight ‘critical questions’ and a virtual Cambridge debate.

By the end of this course learners will be able to:

  1. Understand and explain global systems, pressures and trends (including population growth, climate change and social cohesion);
  2. Analyse the implications of the changing global context on industrial sectors and on their specific organisation, applying systems level thinking;
  3. Examine how individuals, businesses, industries and policymakers can create opportunities to enable systems level change;
  4. Explore key factors that have enabled sustainable business models and the different approaches taken in identifying and delivering new opportunities;
  5. Evaluate the kind of leadership required to manage rapid and disruptive change, and in turn to influence this type of change to move the dial from incremental to transformational.
