Biography

During Elizabeth's time with BP she has gradually moved from external affairs work to social risk and impact identification and management. This has given Elizabeth an opportunity to start changing internal perceptions about social and human rights issues from an optional add-on in external affairs to an operational issue that needs to be considered alongside technical and HSSE concerns.

Elizabeth holds degrees in both French and German and taught English in Germany for a year and France for two years. Her previous roles have included working for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in France and at Mobil in a variety of external communications roles covering the UK and Europe. Prior to joining BP Elizabeth managed external communications for ARCO oil & gas company in the UK and the Faroes. She is a graduate of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership

Elizabeth is Social Responsibility Director, BP International, and has worked at BP since 2000. Her first role was in the Angola business, and then for a pipeline project in the Caucasus. She now leads the social responsibility team in a large central fun
