Andy Murray, Chief Customer Officer of Asda, has been appointed the new Chair of the Natural Capital Impact Group (NCIG), a global network of companies, working collaboratively to determine how business can sustain the natural world and its resources, converned by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

Andy MurryAndy brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked in a number of senior positions within Asda and Walmart, the world’s largest retailer. 

Speaking on the new appointment, Andy said:

“I am delighted to chair the Natural Capital Impact Group. Through its work with the group, Asda has come to understand the importance of natural capital to our business and I look forward to working with other progressive companies to ensure that natural capital becomes part of everyday business routines.”

In his role as chair of the Natural Capital Impact Group, Andy will support members of the group as they co-develop, deploy and embed innovative and enterprising approaches to protecting soil, water and biodiversity in their businesses, and help shape the group’s long-term strategic thinking.
