Ritu Raj is a sustainability technologist and AI innovation leader whose purpose is to discover, learn, and design technology solutions for sustainable living. His expertise lies in connecting business, technology, and sustainability to create scalable solutions that serve both enterprises and the wider industry. His current global role at Unilever, spans Sustainability Technology and AI Innovation. Ritu shapes the technology and data architecture powering Unilever’s systems to meet the sustainability goals across Climate, Nature, Plastics and Livelihood. This includes ESG compliance across frameworks including CSRD, EUDR, CBAM, and ISSB.
He has been pioneering the use of cutting-edge technologies such as Blockchain, Machine Learning and AI for sustainability objectives. In his current role, Ritu shapes global sustainability technology standards, working closely with other large companies, consortia and big tech companies. As Unilever's lead in the World Business Council for Sustainable Development's Partnership for Carbon Transparency (PACT), he led a cross-industry consortium of global FMCG and technology companies to publish the first standards for carbon footprint data exchange, setting a benchmark for supply chain decarbonisation.
Ritu's career spans sixteen years across supply chain and technology, including commodity trading at Cargill, strategy consulting at Accenture - where he led the impact assessment of India's first Aadhaar-based payment pilot.
