About
James is a sustainability strategist and systems thinker with more than 25 years senior management experience in sustainable finance and business. He has provided leadership for organisations and projects and served on a wide range of boards. Via Repattern, James supports organisations and their stakeholders in effective ecosystem innovation and strategy for sustainability transformation. James is currently Strategy Director of Regeneration Wealth Management – building a new global financial institution for catalytic impact.
He was previously the Executive Director of the Climate Safe Lending Network, led the development of WWF’s Nature-based Solutions Accelerator and is a UK Design Council Expert. Before that, he was Strategy Director for Triodos Bank where he previously led the UK investment business comprising corporate finance, crowdfunding, venture capital, and infrastructure funds.
James served on the board of UNEP-FI and was a founding developers of the UN Principles for Responsible Banking. He was a member of the UK Government’s Transition Plan Taskforce and is an Advisory Group member of the Horizon Europe NATURESCAPES research project.
James is a senior fellow of the Finance Innovation Lab having previously served as the Chair of the Board of Trustees. James is a non-executive director of Regen, a trustee of the participatory democracy charity, Involve UK, and an advisor and investor for the venture-builder Carbon-13.
