Erinch Sahan

Erinch Sahan has spent 20 years leading efforts across business, civil society, academia and government to drive a transformation of businesses. He currently leads the work at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) to invest their £400 million endowment in support of an equitable and just future.

Prior to joining JRF, Erinch spent 4 years leading a global community of practitioners to apply Doughnut Economics to businesses. Previously, Erinch was the chief executive of the World Fair Trade Organization, the global network and verifier of social enterprises who fully practise Fair Trade. He has also spent 7 years at Oxfam working in campaigns and programmes, including in creating and leading the Behind the Brands scorecard. Earlier in his career, Erinch worked at Procter & Gamble as a market strategy manager, established a furniture business and worked for Australia’s aid programme in Indonesia.

Erinch is a board member of the Finance Innovation Lab, and has extensive experience serving on various boards. He is also an affiliate fellow at the Post Growth Institute and has taught sustainable value chains at Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, where he is also a senior associate. He holds degrees in finance and law, a masters in international law and an honorary doctorate from Oxford Brookes University. Erinch is the co-author and editor of the book: Doughnut Economics for Regenerative Business Design.
