5 October 2017 – The Natural Capital Impact Group are delighted to announce two new members have joined its global network of companies who are working together to determine how business can better sustain the natural world and its resources.
Yorkshire Water manage approximately 28,000 hectares of land which it is working to protect and enhance its biodiversity for future generations.
Gordon Rogers, Yorkshire Water Head of Sustainability, said:
“Yorkshire Water are delighted to join the Natural Capital Impact Group to collaborate with other progressive businesses to help us manage our natural capital dependencies and impacts.”
The Crown Estate is one of the largest property managers in the United Kingdom, overseeing property worth £12 billion ranging from properties in central London to agricultural land, forests and coastline.
Claudine Blamey, The Crown Estate Head of Sustainability, said:
“The Crown Estate is looking forward to working with members of the Natural Capital Impact Group and with the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership to help us understand how we make our assets resilient for the long term.”
Gemma Cranston, Natural Capital Impact Group’s acting director, explained:
“The addition of these companies to the Group will further strengthen our ability to help businesses embed sustainability into their strategies. Both companies manage significant areas of land so we look forward to working collaboratively with them to share best environmental practice.”
