Sean Ansett is a seasoned leader in global sustainability with over twenty years of experience spanning apparel, electronics, and consumer products sectors. He specializes in developing and implementing strategies for reducing carbon footprints, sourcing materials and packaging responsibly, and launching circular business models. His expertise extends to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) frameworks, building stakeholder-centric organizational functions, sustainability reporting, and nurturing startup growth. As the Senior Director of Sustainability at John Paul Mitchell Systems (JPMS), Sean leads the “Regenerative Roots” sustainability strategy.

Biography

Previously, he co-founded and served as the Chief Sustainability Officer at Fairphone, the world's first modular smartphone, and was the Executive Director of the Bangladesh Health and Safety Accord. His past roles also include Head of Supplier Responsibility at Apple in Cupertino, California, Director of Corporate Responsibility at Burberry in London, and Director of Global Partnerships at Gap Inc.

Sean earned a BS in international business from Illinois State University and holds an MSt in sustainability leadership from the University of Cambridge’s Wolfson College in the United Kingdom as well as an MBA from San Francisco State University. He is a Cradle-to-Cradle Certified Advisory Board Member, Chairman of the Board of Liberty & Justice Clothing, Advisory Board Member at Nest, and a member of the Guild of Future Architects. Additionally, Sean is a returned United States Peace Corps and World Food Program volunteer and is fluent in Spanish.
