The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) is a globally influential institute within the University of Cambridge working on a mission to develop leadership and solutions towards a sustainable economy.

In our eyes, this means an economic recovery which prioritises investment and innovation in solutions to climate change, the restoration of nature, whilst delivering inclusive, resilient societies.

The successful candidate will be joining a small and dynamic team working with innovative small and medium sized businesses in the field of sustainability. The Accelerator and Sustainability Hub have been part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Senior Project Coordinator will provide a critical foundation for the team by providing a high level of administrative assistance and project management support, which in turn will ensure the work to support the rest of the organisation runs smoothly.

Applicants must be committed to the values that underpin CISL's work and will be expected to demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:

  • Experience working in a relevant role with excellent administrative and organisation skills, including financial processes such as invoicing and purchase orders;
  • Excellent IT skills, including familiarity with project management software, Outlook 365, Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Demonstrable knowledge of facts, principles, processes and general concepts related to Project administration/management;
  • Excellent written and oral communication, including the use of correct grammar, spelling and tone in all written content;
  • Structured thinking and excellent time management skills;
  • A team player with the ability to work remotely within a busy team, often under time pressure;
  • Ability to use own initiative to manage competing priorities and to manage the expectations of others in that context.

The following attributes are desirable:

  • Experience working with Client Relationship Management systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365;
  • Experience developing high levels of trust and credibility in relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Experience of managing events across a range of formats.
