Do you want to make a difference in the transition toward a sustainable economy? Are you interested in a fast-paced and demanding role, leading the strategy and thinking of the investment industry? Can you work with industry leaders to develop and organise an influential and forward-thinking work programme designed to deliver change?

The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) is a globally influential institute within the university, working with business, finance, government and civil society to develop leadership and solutions for a sustainable economy.

We are currently recruiting a senior manager to lead our Investment Leaders Group,  a growing global network of pension funds, insurers and asset managers, with over £14 trillion under management and advice, working to advance the practice of responsible investment. This role sits within our Centre for Sustainable Finance which collectively brings together over 50 financial institutions across five continents to drive change in the finance system and advance the transition to a more sustainable economy and society.

We are looking for a highly motivated senior leader with a good understanding of sustainable finance and knowledge of the investment sector for this role. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic leadership for the group, working with members to provide strategic direction, ambition and alignment.

  • Working with members and academic partners to co-create thought-leading content that unlocks and mainstreams sustainable investment practice, overseeing and commissioning new research and analysis.

  • Ensuring the group delivers value to its members, CISL and society in accordance with the business plan and budget, including business development and fundraising.

  • Collaboration across CISL, its network, the wider University, as well as member firms and selected external parties to amplify the work of the platform and drive impact.

  • Lead and build a team delivering platform content and managing member relations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial and supportive team doing work at the leading edge of sustainable finance research and convening.
