Office assistant – Temporary, full time or part time basis (9 months)

The Accelerator team is looking to recruit an office assistant who will undertake project related administration and basic finance work for a team of 5.  This post in on a temporary basis and available full time or part time/job share, starting as soon as possible and working from home.

We have a growing portfolio of work, running virtual Accelerators for innovative small businesses and will be running a new business from central Cambridge, opening in early 2022.  We therefore need administrative support to help us as we are expanding our work, which is very varied and involves raising purchase orders and processing payments, grant related administration and data monitoring, CRM work reviewing enquiries and producing reports, amongst other tasks. 

The following skills and knowledge are essential:

  • Proficiency in Office based programmes and particularly Excel and some form of database
  • Ability to work fast with high level of accuracy
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to manage a varied workload, meet deadlines and communicate with team as needed for any issues that arise


The post will be contracted on a part-time or a full-time basis, at a Grade 4 or Grade 5 equivalent of the University’s Temporary Employment Service (£12.32/hour - £14.22/hour). Flexible hours to fit around caring responsibilities or other commitments are offered, subject to negotiation. The postholder will ideally work from home with equipment provided, but could work from a co-working space potentially, paid for by the project.
