This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership's Education team. You will have management experience working in a business-focused education environment and will be able to hit the ground running and integrate quickly into a diverse, fast paced and highly motivated team. You will need to be an effective team leader, planner and innovator, with a commitment to deliver results, and the communication and collaboration skills and the adaptability to ensure that you and your team meet the diverse needs of all education portfolios. Your role will include management of the day to day operations of all education portfolios as well as co-ordinating long range financial and resource planning. You will lead the team responsible for all programme operations and administration, ensuring the highest quality and service levels. You will also be proactive in identifying and implementing process and service innovations that will lead to increased impact, quality, efficiency, income and/or staff wellbeing across all education teams.

You will be expected to demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience of service delivery in a participant and client-centric environment, ideally with experience of managing an operational delivery team and developing excellent supplier relationships.
  • Experience of people and project team management and of building high-performance teams.
  • Experience of working in the higher education environment and in particular Executive and/or Graduate Education.
  • Experience of business and resource planning across multi-£M portfolios.
  • Experience of process innovation and of leading change management initiatives.
  • Excellent knowledge of IT systems that enable effective operational management (including financial management, communications, knowledge sharing) and very confident in working with CRM-based databases.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including long term planning and systems development and implementation
  • Ability to train colleagues in key systems and processes, and translate complex tasks and expectations into clear and practical clear, practical implementation approaches.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills and ability to understand and manipulate data
  • Ability to oversee multiple complex projects requiring tight timeframes, including ability to multi-task and operate under pressure and competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to demonstrate accuracy and fluency in spoken and written communications.
  • Financial awareness and commercial acumen
  • A demonstrable interest in Sustainability and committed to the values that underpin CISL's work.
