New report indicates locally-owned model of insurance protection helps vulnerable communities recover from natural disasters

21 June 2019 – A new study from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership has, for the first time, analysed how mutual microinsurance, a community-owned model of insurance, contributes to the recovery outcomes of low income households following a natural disaster.

AstraZeneca partners with Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership to launch unique sustainability project in Kenya

21 May 2018

21 May 2018 – Today at the 71st World Health Assembly, AstraZeneca will announce a new sustainability project in partnership with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). The pilot will see the introduction of portable biodigesters to Dunga Beach on Lake Victoria in Kenya which allow the local community to process organic waste into valuable clean energy. It will study the impact on the environment and local economy, and provide potential insight into the effect of clean cooking on respiratory health.
