20 April 2022 - InfluenceMap has recently launched an interactive platform tracking influencing efforts of companies and industry associations on key files within the EU Green Deal’s landmark initiative of the ‘Fit for 55’ package. The Corporate Leaders Groups were awarded an “A” ranking for their ongoing policy engagement for climate action, topping the industrial association list.

15 November 2021 – On 13 November, a final COP26 agreement was reached within the Scottish Events Campus in Glasgow. The Glasgow Climate Pact will mean that all nations should formulate and publish updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to the Paris Agreement for 2030 by the time COP27 begins in Egypt. They should strive to align targets and plans with a 1.5C temperature pathway.

Cambridge University announces the launch of the Aviation Impact Accelerator (AIA), an international group of experts in aerospace, economics, policy, and climate science, who are building an interactive evidence-based simulator that enables exploration of scenarios for achieving net zero flight.

2 February 2021 – The Dasgupta Review is an independent, global review on the Economics of Biodiversity commissioned by HM Treasury to explore the sustainability of our engagement with nature. 11 December 2020 – A new framework developed by leading sustainability institute CISL aims to support business planning to become climate neutral by 2050.

18 November 2020 – Prime Minister Boris Johnson released details of his Ten Point Plan for a UK green recovery yesterday evening. The roadmap towards decarbonisation of the economy and regeneration of nature comes one year before the UK hosts the COP26 climate summit.

30 January 2020 – The Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and the University of Cambridge Whittle Laboratory hosted a meeting for HRH The Prince of Wales, aviation business leaders, senior government officials and academics to announce the university’s ambition to develop the world’s first zero carbon flight.

7 October 2019 – The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) has joined together with other influential organisations working with forward-thinking businesses to form the Business for Nature coalition.
