Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL)

9 February 2017 – This Green Growth Platform event focused on the changing landscape of risks and opportunities from the perspective of leading financial institutions and businesses, a year on from the Paris Agreement, and the priorities for further scaling up low carbon investment and economic activity.

The event was organised in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB). The event began with keynote addresses by European Commission Vice President Maroš Šefčovič and EIB Secretary General, Klaus Tromel, including a state of play of private finance in climate action at EU level. 

Two panel discussions followed focusing on:

Finance and investment perspectives on low carbon growth

With contributions from Mirova, Trove Research, EIB and the European Commission.

Corporate risk, return and growth opportunities

With contributions from Eurosif, Schneider, Google, Iberdrola and Stora Enso.

Closing remarks and a summary of the discussions were offered by Berthold Goeke, Deputy Director for Climate Policy (BMUB) and Jill Duggan, Director of Policy at CISL, The Prince of Wales’s Corporate Leaders Group and the Green Growth Platform.
