Why choose this online sustainability course?

The Business & Sustainability Programme (BSP) Online course is designed to help build a common understanding of sustainability within organisations at scale.

For businesses to respond effectively to the rapidly changing social, environmental and economic context requires transformational change. This cannot be achieved by sustainability experts and senior management acting alone.

BSP Online helps managers better understand global sustainability trends and effective business responses and actions. Supporting learning, innovation and leadership, the online sustainability course will help your team identify areas of personal and professional relevance within their sphere of influence.

The online sustainability training is a cost effective way of building a common understanding of sustainability across your teams and organisation. It’s learner-centric design allows users to learn in their own time, at their own pace, completing modules over a number of days or weeks, anywhere around the world.

94 per cent of users rate the online course as good or excellent and over 90 per cent would recommend BSP Online to their colleagues.

Often used to complement organisation’s current training programmes, BSP Online includes monitoring for cohort managers enabling the generation of reports on completion rates and learner progress. The online sustainability course provides technical and customer support to cohort managers and users which can be accessed by telephone or through email.

BSP Online can be both customised and translated.  If you wish to discuss the possibility of developing a customised version of the programme, to discuss your corporate customisation requirements.

What will I learn?

BSP Online offers a flexible learning process of inquiry, reflection, case studies and management simulations.

As they work through their choice of modules, learners are asked to test their assumptions, understanding and preparedness by:

  • Examining key trends that pose significant risks and opportunities for business (such as climate disruption, food security, health, poverty and inequality)
  • Exploring the implications of these for their organisation
  • Considering organisational responses to these issues
  • Engaging with the concerns and expectations of stakeholders
  • Identifying and testing opportunities to take action within their own sphere of influence

In practice, learners complete the course in their own time, progressing through modules which may contain videos, self-assessments, case studies, quizzes, management simulations or role-play exercises. Learners who successfully complete the online sustainability course, including achieving a pass on all four self-assessments, will receive a certificate of completion from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
