Nick Robins, Senior Associate

Nick is Professor in Practice for Sustainable Finance at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change & the Environment. He has also worked as Co-Director of the UN Environment Programme’s Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System for the past four years.


Biography:

Prior to that, Nick was Head of the Climate Change Centre of Excellence at HSBC in London. Launched in October 2007, the Centre's mission is to analyse the commercial consequences of climate change for the HSBC Group and its clients.  Since joining HSBC, Nick has co-authored research on: strategic climate investment theme, climate risk, emerging market opportunities, the links between climate change and fiscal stimulus, the outlook and results of the Copenhagen climate conference, the climate vulnerability of G-20 nations and the latest understanding of climate science. In July 2009, Nick was presented with the Extel Award for best individual analyst for integrated research on climate change. Nick is also co-editor of Sustainable Investing: the Art of Long-Term Performance (2008), co-chair of the UNEP Finance Initiative's Climate Change Working Group, a member of BT's CSR Leadership Panel as well as GE's Corporate Citizenship Panel.
