How do we create the financial system of tomorrow; one that drives both an inclusive economy and an economy that operates within the boundaries of a finite planet? How can the global banking industry ensure that it plays its part through-out the transition to a low-carbon sustainable economy? We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated by these challenges. Who has the passion and skills to play a key programme management and analytical role in our work to help banks, other financial institutions and policymakers deliver commercially-grounded leadership in response.

The University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) empowers leaders to build a sustainable economy. We do this by catalysing market leadership through our business and policy platforms and world-class educational programmes, all informed by world-class research from the University of Cambridge and elsewhere. This role sits squarely in the sustainable finance business platform giving the successful applicant the opportunity to work directly with some of the largest banks in the world.

Our expertise lies in how to embed resilience to environmental risk in routine financial decision-making, how to transform the positive impact that capital has on sustainability and how to harness the digital revolution in support of these goals.

This is an exciting and highly visible opportunity for someone to take responsibility for the design and delivery of CISL’s work with many of the world’s most influential banks. The role will involve developing new work-streams while delivering on existing ones, such as: working with banks to accelerate the low-carbon transition through the development of existing and new financial services, supporting banking clients’ in countering deforestation throughout their supply-chains, as well as policy engagements where and when appropriate.
