At the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) we have an exciting opportunity to join our Graduate Programmes team, which runs our expanding suite of Master's-level programmes designed to build the capacity of professionals to bring about positive change for sustainability within their organisations. 

We currently offer five graduate-level programmes: a Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership, a Master of Studies in Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment, a Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Business, a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Business and a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Value Chains. This is an exciting time to join our team as we are planning to extend this portfolio even further, and are currently working towards the creation of additional programmes.

The Graduate Programmes team provides a collaborative, supportive and hardworking working environment with a strong and effective team dynamic. We are looking for a new team member with a commitment to students, to their learning journey and to the ultimate impact on sustainability.

The role of the Project Coordinator is to provide administrative support to both the team and our mature students who expect a professional level of service, such as they would receive in the business world.

Tasks will include:

  • Acting as first point of contact for programme enquiries.
  • Supporting admissions administration for our Master’s programmes, including arranging interviews and communicating decisions.
  • Supporting event logistics for residential events in Cambridge by liaising with students, external stakeholders and suppliers, venue searching and preparing event materials. You may also be required attend events and conferences to provide administrative support.
  • Collating post-event evaluations, including delegate feedback.
  • Undertaking the routine financial administration of assigned projects/areas of work, drafting contracts for speakers based on provided templates, and processing payments for speakers and suppliers.
  • Liaising with programme Tutors and students regarding the assessment of assignments and recording marking data.
  • Preparing materials for annual Examiners meetings and taking notes during meetings.
  • Maintaining course and policy documents.
  • Adding and updating data on a variety of databases, whilst also ensuring materials on the online learning environment are up to date.
  • Liaising closely with senior colleagues to provide a sound administrative underpinning across all Graduate programmes being delivered and developed.

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:

  • Educated to at least A Level, or equivalent.
  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with digital education platforms such as Moodle (or a willingness to learn).
  • High standard of attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of event management/logistics.
  • Experience of data entry.
  • Experience in supporting the financial aspects of ongoing projects.
  • Previous experience of working within a project team.
  • Relationship management experience (ability to communicate and maintain ongoing relationships with senior professionals).

The following attributes are desirable:

  • Experience of working with a Client Relationship Management system or student record database (i.e. CamSIS).
  • Familiarity with the University's financial systems.
  • Experience of working with part time, mature or Graduate students.
  • Experience of online survey tools and or meeting platforms (i.e. Qualtrics / Survey Monkey / GoToWebinar).
  • Awareness of GDPR principles.
  • Interest to social and environmental responsibility.
