Education and Advisory

Lindsay leads the Institute’s Education and Advisory teams which support major organisations and individual leaders internationally to build the capability to create the future we want, aligning commercial performance with the delivery of positive outcomes for society.

Over 15 years at the leading edge of business and sustainability, Lindsay has led significant growth and innovation in the Institute’s education and advisory services, including expansion into new international markets as well as development of new products and services to support businesses to embed sustainability across the organisation and to be effective in supporting a transition to a sustainable economy.

 


 

Paul BegleyPaul leads the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL)'s customised programmes portfolio.

Since joining in August 2011, he has designed programmes to help organisations such as Arup, the African Development Bank, Standard Chartered and Tata extract commercial value from the changing context. Prior to CISL, Paul worked at the think-tank AccountAbility where he provided research and advisory for clients such as the European Commission, Microsoft and State Grid.

 

 


 

Theo HackingTheo oversees the development and delivery of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership CISL’s portfolio of graduate programmes.

Before completing his PhD at Cambridge, Theo spent 15 years working in industry, mostly on the environmental and social impact assessment of major projects. Prior to joining CISL he was a Senior Research Associate at Cambridge’s Engineering Department, where he oversaw an industry-funded research programme into energy efficiency in the built environment.

 


 

Aris Vrettos, Director, Open and International Programmes

Aris Vrettos

Aris leads the strategy, development and delivery of executive education programmes in CISL’s international markets and oversees regional projects and partnerships, including the Middle East, China & South East Asia and Australia.

He speaks on global trends and business leadership and works with companies on the opportunity of the Sustainable Development Goals and Rewiring the Economy, CISL’s 10 year plan to create the foundations for a sustainable economy. 

 


 

Lucy Bruzzone, Programme Director

Lucy Bruzzone

Lucy leads CISL’s executive education engagement with China and in particular is responsible for the delivery of key cities-focused programmes for Chinese government officials including the Beijing Municipal and Guangdong Provincial Governments. Since 2018 Lucy has been the Chair of the Business & Sustainability Programme in Chile and Australia. She also coordinates CISL’s wider engagement with cities and the built environment and delivers sustainability programmes for the real estate sector. 

 

 


 

Ben Kellard, Director of Business Strategy

Ben Kellard 1Ben leads CISL’s business strategy advisory work. He has a passion for shaping organisational purpose and strategies that unlock people’s desire to improve their own and others wellbeing, while sustaining the environmental systems the organisation relies upon. Doing so prepares organisations for the future.

He does this by helping organisations such as O2, Unilever and Burberry to develop and implement holistic leading strategies. Ben draws on over twenty years of experience as an organisational consultant, to involve a range of stakeholders to develop shared responses to complex and ambiguous sustainability challenges.


 

Martin RobertsMartin is responsible for CISL's online learning services helping companies and individuals develop the necessary skills and expertise to address sustainability challenges and identify exciting commercial opportunities by applying innovative business models of the future.

Martin joined the Institute in 2008 and over a diverse career as a business convenor and advisor has worked with the food, agriculture, utility, tourism and extractive sectors, spending over a decade based in several African countries developing partnerships with governments and NGOs to tackle natural resource challenges. 


 

Alice Spencer, Programme Director

Alice SpencerAlice joined CISL in 2017 and is responsible for developing and delivering customised executive education programmes for senior leaders. She is also responsible for delivering CISL’s annual series of programmes in Australia and for the Cambridge Earth on Board programme, which equips non-executive directors to engage with strategic business decisions to align sustainability and profitability.

Prior to joining CISL, Alice worked for several years in Australia and New Zealand in Corporate, Not-for-Profit and Regional Government roles engaging with national and corporate strategies and social and environmental impact projects. These included working across several large (150,000-400,000 hectare) cattle stations in the Northern Territory, Australia with R.M.Williams and writing the Natural Resource Management Plan for catchments and islands adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland.
